SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing comprehensive technical and commercial pre-sales support to the Sales Department. Identifies, qualifies and scopes business opportunities into technical requirements for hardware, software, datasets, content, networks, and cloud infrastructure, including but not limited to integration points with 3rd party vendors or proprietary systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Collects, analyzes, evaluates, and interprets complex customer commercial and technical requirements and turns them into strategic, accurate, cost-effective, technical proposals using Company and 3rd party solutions that meet customer needs with tight deadlines.
  • Becomes a trusted advisor to our customers and partners to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and identify core technical and business requirements in order to meet and exceed customer’s needs, and accelerate and grow recurring revenue for the Company.
  • Highly adaptable to learning new technologies, tools, methods, partners, cultures and changing customer priorities.
  • Maintains knowledge of general market conditions / requirements and provides input to appropriate development and marketing departments to assist in decisions for enhancements to services and feature/functionality sets and pricing models.
  • Maintains knowledge of key competitor environments and identifies key strengths of Verimatrix service offerings in competitive sales situations. Updates competitive information.
  • Maintains a continuing and effective communication with other Sales Staff and customers by ensuring questions are responded to efficiently and proxied to appropriate stakeholders in other departments as necessary.
  • Provides coaching and professional development to sales team members in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen, and technical sales skills.
  • Liaison with Product Management, Engineering, Cloud, Security, and Global Operations to understand details of product direction and design and communicate information back to sales organization and customers
  • Setup and configure demos and trials of Company products/services with customers and partners
  • Ability to work remotely, independently and meet customer and Company deadlines
  • Generate sales quotes, architecture diagrams, and technical summaries of proposed solutions
  • Strong business-level written, verbal and presentation skills in English
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or similar field.
  • 5 to 8 years progressive experience in Project Management and/or Sales Engineer field with proven ability to understand customers’ business models and determine cost-effective strategies for implementations.
  • Good understanding of technologies and services such as CDNs, Cloud Services and SaaS platforms such as Akamai, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Certification as AWS Cloud Architect or similar preferred.
  • Good knowledge of video solution delivery for OTT, IPTV and DVB eco-systems for streaming media, cable, satellite and broadcast systems.
  • Hands-on skills with Android, iOS and/or embedded Linux software development in C, C++, Java, Objective-C, Swift, Python and JavaScript is a plus.
  • Knowledge of security methods such as public-key cryptography, SSL, TLS, awareness of encryption algorithms such as AES and RCA, authentication solutions such as Oauth and EAP, and pen testing strategies such as performing NESSUS scans and setting up red teams
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills, both presentation and written.

  • Achieves assigned revenue, profitability and productivity quotas.
  • Maintains deal throughput in early deal-sales process steps.
  • Achieves product and service growth targets for the assigned geography, channel, sales team, or account base.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet and exceeds company standards. 
  • Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel up to 50% of time

Compensation: $130-150k annual base salary plus 25% Pre-Sales Commissions. Compensation based off of experience, knowledge, skills, etc.
