PDLC Project Manager

A PDLC PM participates in the creation of a large product suite that enables content protection and security for video delivered via satellite, cable, or the Internet.  A PDLC PM reports to the Portfolio RTE who collaborates with teammates to deliver high-performing, scalable, high-quality products on time with the right scope; they should enjoy working through the entire software development lifecycle, predominantly with software releases.  A successful PDLC PM will be collaborative, proactive, interactive, creative, and flexible while understanding the need to keep moving forward at all times.  

A PDLC PM assists the Portfolio RTE in preparing for the quarterly Program Increment (PI) Planning meeting and may also lead certain segments of the event.  They must be able to take direction and be able to work independently to implement complex projects.  This role involves close collaboration with teams including development, product management, test, security, and operations.  A PDLC PM must be able to communicate professionally and positively with those internal and external to the PDLC.

A PDLC PM will need to learn and understand at a high level the entire Verimatrix product suite so that they can understand dependencies and complex deliverables.

Some tasks a PDLC Project Manager will have: 

• Work with stakeholders in multiple departments to ensure the smooth flow of the product development lifecycle including coordinate/drive internal deliveries of a complex and varied set of “whole product” components (server and client software, documentation, tools, etc.)
• Assist in PI planning preparations
• Assist in monitoring multiple aspects of controls, with an emphasis on planning and tracking software deliveries
• Present accurate forecasting of status and project completion
• Track risks and dependencies that ensure the success of the program
• Assist in organizing and updating process documentation
• Track reviewer and approval processes
• Other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of experience of managing deployments of complex systems into different environments
• Ability to maintain a professional, positive, can-do attitude, poise under intense pressure to perform with extreme reliability
• Strong presentation, meeting facilitation, and communication skills in English across geographies, cultures and time zones
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with end-to-end software product development
• Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking system
• Proficiency in Office productivity applications (such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
• Ability to travel (up to 10%)
• Bachelor’s degree

Each of the Following would be a Plus:

• Experience with multiple Agile software development methodologies and practices
• Scrum Master experience and certification
• Product Owner experience
• Experience with ISO documentation and support
• Basic understanding of broadcast network interoperability from Head-End to Home Subscriber
• Experience using source code control systems
• Familiarity with Conditional Access or Digital Rights Management (DRM)
• Familiarity with cable, satellite, IPTV or Internet streaming technologies for live and on-demand video content
• Familiarity with video standards
